Before watching this magnum opus, the rating of this picture I got from those who had gone through it was "average". With great expectation after the Red Cliff part one, I've been yearning for this sequel. Ok, now let's cut all the small talk and come to the core. It finally dawned on me that high expectation would virtually ruin a movie. The part two was not up to the standard, if compared with its predecessor. The battle scene is dull and weirdly artificial, (have you ever seen swordmen flying from boat to boat like there is no gravity in effect? Or presumably, they are fighting on the moon?) and, more miserable, the dialogue in the second part has lost its touch, which acted as a selling point in the part one! Basically there is nothing you can enjoy out of the Red Cliff sequel. I wonder whether you would ask for a refund upon ending in cinema... even in the middle of the boring projection.
